HUGO LLORIS INTERVIEW
The shot-stopper produced a standout performance in
the away leg of our Round of 16 tie with Borussia Dortmund
as he produced numerous stops to keep the German side
at bay, including an outstanding save to tip a fierce Mario
Gotze effort away.
Then, in an exhilaratingtwo-legged affair with Manchester
City, the keeper produced his third penalty save in as many
months to prevent Sergio Aguero giving the visitors an early
advantage.
It was a crucial stop that gave us the confidence to go on
to take a 1-0 lead from that first-leg.
"You don't have too much time to think in those situations,"
the World Cup winner explained.
"Penalties are very difficult. For keepers, some perform
better than others in these situations, but I don't think that
there is a perfect solution.
"I just try to read the striker as well as I can. Try to wait
until the last moment to pick a side. Try to find any indication
you can from the penalty taker. Then I think there is always a
part of luck. In football there are things you cannot control
and then it becomes about feelings.
