CELTIC'S first game in the group stages of this season's UEFA
Europa League saw them travel to The Netherlands to take
on Ajax in the Amsterdam ArenA. And Ronny Deila's side
were unlucky not to leave with all three points.
Nir Bitton opened the scoring for the Hoops after eight minutes
with an exquisite shot from inside the box, but that lead was
cancelled out on 24 minutes when Viktor Fischer guided home a
shot beyond Craig Gordon.
Three minutes before half-time, Mikael Lustig restored Celtic's
lead, heading home a Kris Commons corner, and they remained
in control of the game until Emilio Izaguirre was sent off on 73
minutes.
With the one-man advantage, Ajax pushed for an equaliser
and they got it with six minutes of the match remaining through
substitute, Lasse Schone.
