The home side fought back, though, and their
persistence paid off when Slovenian striker, Robert
Beric made it 2-2 in the 76th minute and that's the
way the game ended,
Ajax may have held the sway in terms of away
goals going into their home leg in the Amsterdam
ArenA, but Beric carried on from where he had left
in the first leg by netting once more against the
Dutch side to make it 3-2 on aggregate to Rapid.
That goal arrived in the 12th minute but it was
only the first marker in what turned out to be a
night of nail-biting football in Amsterdam.
Louis Schaub then made it 2-0 on the night and
4-2 on aggregate for the Austrian Bundesliga side
and that was the way it finished at half-time, with
Rapid seemingly in a commanding lead.
Just seven minutes after the break, though, Polish
striker, Arkadiusz Milik pulled one back for the
home side and in the 75th minute when Serbian
midfielder, Namanja Gudelj made it 2-2 on the night
