DAVY KLAASSEN
The attacking midfielder is a player who has
come through the youth ranks at Ajax and he
made his debut for the first-team at the age of
18 when he came on as a substitute in a UEFA
Champions League tie against Lyon. Now 22,
Klaassen is an established member of Frank
de Boer's side and will be one of the players
expected to provide attacking flair and creativity
for his side against Celtic tonight. He's netted
four goals this season, the most recent coming
in the 1-1 draw against rivals, Feyenoord just
before the international break. He's already won
three league titles with Ajax, and along with
his team-mates, will be aiming to reclaim the
Eredivisie title from PSV Eindhoven, who
won it last season. And for the current
campaign, Klaassen also has the added
responsibility of the captain's armband,
which was given to him when Niklas
Moisander moved to Sampdoria in the
summer. The Ajax skipper has also
been capped at full international level
for The Netherlands, and will be as
disappointed as the rest of his
countrymen at Holland's failure to
qualify for Euro 2016. Definitely
a player Celtic will have to
watch tonight.
