Gary Johnson returned to
manage Yeovil Town earlier
this month.
The City manager took
charge of a Yeovil
Conference XI for
Terry Skiverton's
entertaining
Testimonial
match at Huish
Park.
Gavin Williams
and Lee Johnson
lined up in the
Conference XI
against a star-
studded Skiverton
XI, which included
the likes of Soccer
AM's Tubes, Chappers
from BBC Radio One and
BBC Radio Bristol's Geoff
Twentyman.
The match ended 4-4,
with City's manager even
making a late appearance
as a substitute. Reports
suggest Gary was guilty of
a dive in the penalty area
to win a spot-kick, although
he later claimed to have
been "clipped".
After Skiverton had
missed the last-gasp
i penalty kick, the
referee ordered a re
take and Gary calmly
teed up his former
captain in the
I box for a much-
cherished goal.
There was
still time for the re-
emergence of Darren
Way following a serious
car accident, the
one-time Yeovil
midfielder having
the final touch of
the game.

The Gores Marshalls will be
holding collections at all three of
City's home pre-season friendlies
in 2009/10, starting tonight for
the visit of Ajax.
Gores Marshalls is a voluntary
body of the Southville Community
Development Association, and
also a registered charity.
They are looking to raise
funds for the regeneration of
Gores Marsh Park, on Winterstoke
Road, just a few hundred yards
from Ashton Gate.
The charity has already raised
£142,000 since January 2008
from various sources, and they
are hoping for more help from
City supporters this pre-season.
All money raised will go
towards the purchase of play
equipment, football goalposts,
seats, picnic tables and more.
It is hoped work will begin
in the Autumn, so please give
generously to this worthwhile
and very local cause.
David Lee has come on-board
City's first-team coaching ranks
as development coach.
The 39-year-old ex-Chelsea
defender actually spent the
back end of last season with
the club, working with City's
younger first team squad
members.
And he will continue the
role full-time for the new
football season, with the club
boasting a strong 'Under-21
group' for 2009/10.
"It's about development
on and off the pitch. We
have an excellent group here
and hopefully I can use my
experience to help them
develop," David told Well Red.
