RESERVES IN PRE-SEASON
Neil Bailey's young reserve side kicked off their pre-season with a
comfortable victory at Arbroath before games on consecutive days
last weekend as part of Hartlepool United's Centenary Tournament.
REMAINING FIXTURES:
Hartlepool Cente
Tournament
A young side bolstered by a trio of
senior pro's beat the home side 1-0
courtesy of a Michael Chopra penalty
only to go down 2-1 in the final
against newly promoted SPL outfit
Hamilton when the same nucleus
of young hopefuls were joined by a
different quartet of senior players.
"The lads worked hard and it was
a challenge for the young players to
achieve a good result against what was
almost a Hartlepool first team" said Neil
Bailey. "They were ably assisted by the
senior players involved. We rode our luck
at times early on but once we settled
down we played some good football.
