Another Great
Work Out
This was Sunderland's first ever
meeting with Vitoria Setubal.
Every outfield member of
the squad got a game.
The transfer of TeemuTainio
ws confirmed during the game.
Portuguese League Cup holders
Vitoria Setubal gave Sunderland
an excellent work out with Kieran
Richardson's goal on the stroke of half
time sending the Lads in level after an
opening half that saw them fortunate
not to fall further behind after Bruno
Moraes second minute opener.
The impressive Leandro Lima fired
home a free kick only for it to be disallowed
for offside against Laionel while the
crossbar and a double reaction save from
Darren Ward kept Sunderland in the game.
Seven interval changes contributed
to a much improved second half with
Anthony Stokes hitting the bar and Phil
Bardsley testing Setubal stopper Mlojevic.
