Sunderland spent six days
in July at a training camp on
the Algarve playing games
against Sporting Lisbon
and Vitoria de Setubal.
Roy Keane took a squad of
21 players who were put through
twice daily training sessions in the
early morning and late afternoon
at the home of FC Ferreiras.
"It was a good trip, we were
delighted with the training
facilities, the hotel and what
we got out of the trip" said
Roy Keane who saw his side
defeat Sporting 3-1 and draw
with Portuguese League
Cup holders Vitoria Setubal
1-1 in Sunderland's opening
two pre-season games.
