Frank de Boer
Born: May 15,1970
A skilful defender with a
tremendous left foot,
Frank de Boer won the UEFA Cup,
Champions League and the
Toyota Cup with Ajax. With
Barcelona he won La Liga in 1999.
Frank was also captain of the
Dutch team that reached the
Semi-Finals of World Cup in
1998 and the 2000 European
Championships. It was Frank
who gave the famous pass to
Bergkamp in the last few
minutes of the World Cup
Quarter-Final match against
Argentina. Dennis went on to
score what was chosen as the
best goal of that World Cup.
Ronald de Boer
Born: May 15,1970
The twin brother of
Frank, Ronald is just 15
minutes older than is brother.
Ronald played for Ajax,
Barcelona and Glasgow Rangers.
A right-footed and extremely
skilful midfielder Ronald won the
UEFA Cup, Champions League
and Toyota Cup with Ajax.
Wim Jonk
Born: October 12,1966
A skilful midfielder,
Wim Jonk plied his
trade with Volendam, Ajax,
Inter Milan, PSV Eindhoven and
Sheffield Wednesday. For many
years he was Dennis
Bergkamp's partner on the
football pitch. Wim won the
UEFA Cup with both Ajax and
Inter Milan.
Stanley Menzo
Born: October 15,1963
Menzo played football
for Ajax, PSV
Eindhoven, Lierse SK of
Belgium and Bordeaux of
France. Fie was a goalkeeper
with style famous for his
footballing ability as well as his
goalkeeping prowess. Fie won
the European Cup Winners' Cup
and UEFA Cup with Ajax and
was member of the Dutch
squad that reached the
Semi-Finals of the 1992
European Championships.
Stefan Pettersson
Born: March 22,1963
A Swede, Pettersson
scored over 100 goals
for Ajax in just 197 games. Fie
won the UEFA Cup with Ajax.
Bryan Roy
Born: February 12,
1970
A well travelled player,
Bryan was employed by Ajax,
Foggia, Nottingham Forest and
Flertha BSC. A very skilful left-
winger, Bryan won the UEFA
Cup with Ajax.
Alfons Groenendijk
Born: May 17,1964
A powerful midfielder in
his day Alfons won the
UEFA Cup with Ajax in 1992
before moving to Manchester
City. Fie is now the assistant
coach at Ajax.
Jaap Stam
Born: July 17,1972
A seasoned campaigner
who played for Flolland
in the 1998 World Cup as well
as 200 and 2004 European

Edwin van der Sar
Born: October 29,1970
The holder of 113 Dutch
caps, a national record,
Edwin currently plays for
Manchester United having
previously worn the colours of
Ajax, Juventus and Fulham. He
was chosen as the best Dutch
player of the 2006 World Cup.
Marciano Vink
Born: October 17,1970
Vink played for Ajax,
Genoa and PSV
Eindhoven. A right-footed,
skilful and attacking midfielder,
he won the UEFA Cup with Ajax
in 1992.
Aron Winter
Born: March 1,1967
The holder of 85 Dutch
caps Aron played his
football with Ajax, Lazio and
Inter Milan. He won, with Ajax,
the European Cup Winners' Cup
and UEFA Cup, a trophy he also
won with Inter. He won the
European Championships with
Holland in 1988.
Jan Wouters
Born: July 17, i960
A former player with
FC Utrecht, Ajax,
Bayern Munich and PSV
Eindhoven, Wouters was a very
talented and competitive
midfielder. He was part of the
Dutch team that won the
European Championships in
1998 and is now part of the
coaching set-up at PSV
Eindhoven.
Frank Rijkaard
Born: September 30,
1962
One of the most
famous Dutch players ever,
Frank won the European Cup
Winners' Cup with Ajax. He also
won the Champions League
three times, once with Ajax and
twice with AC Milan.
A European Championship
winner in 1988, he was coach
of the Dutch national team for
the 2000 European
Championships and is currently
the coach of Barcelona.
Edgar Davids
Born: March 13,1973
Nicknamed 'Pitbull'
and 'Piranha', Davids
has played for Ajax, AC Milan,
Juventus, Barcelona, Inter Milan
and Tottenham Hotspur. A left-
footed midfielder Davids won
the UEFA Cup with Ajax along
with the Champions League and
the Toyota Cup as well as the
Champions League with
Juventus in 2003.
