Israel, and not only geographically. It is the business
center of Israel, and also the center of sports culture,
entertainment and nightlife. Tel Aviv-Jaffa is alive
and bustling 24 hours a day, a city that never sleeps.
As soon as you arrive at Ben-Gurion International

business, tours, recreation or relaxation.
others are in the towns surrounding the city: Herzliya,
Ramat Gan and Bat Yam.
All of us in Tel Aviv-Jaffa are eager to help the visitors
to the city, and to make their stay as pleasant as possible.
The information in this booklet may be concise and
brief, but there is much more material available to you
and as much help as you need, both at the hotels and
at the Tourist Information centers:
The White City of Tel Aviv - a unique urban fabric,
the largest live museum of early modem buildings -
was inscribed by UNESCO on July the 3rd 2003, as
a world heritage cultural site.
Thus Tel Aviv-Jaffa joins a distinguished list of cities,
all over the world, acknowledged for their cultural
treasures.
Tel Aviv-Jaffa is the perfect destination for a varied
vacation. It has a special and unusual combination of
advantages and attractions. There is a beautiful long
beach, many kilometers long, modem shopping centers
alongside exotic and colorful markets. It combines
super modem skyscrapers with historical and ancient
buildings, synagogues, mosques and churches, and
traditions based on a mixture of stories from Greek
mythology, the Old and the New Testament. It has
international commercial and business quarters,
alongside green residential neighborhoods and broad
parks. There are museums and galleries, operas and
concerts, theaters and movie houses, sports fields and
amusement parks, cafes and restaurants, nightclubs
and bars. This is a city that never sleeps.
Tel Aviv-Jaffa is a safe and peaceful city, where
violence and crime are almost non-existent, and tourists
are free to visit and walk everywhere, 24 hours a day.
The city's residents are welcoming, and almost all
of them speak English. Other languages are also
spoken, such as Russian or French. And if there is
anything that the direct and formality-shunning Israeli
Sabra ("Tzabar") knows how to do, it is to make you
feel immediately at home.
Tel Aviv-Jaffa offers the tourist a range of hotels for
every taste and every purse, from top-ranking luxury
hotels to warm family-mn guesthouses, including suite
and apartment hotels. 60 hotels in the Tel Aviv-Jaffa
region are an important factor in the economy of the
city and of the entire region, and a major sector of the
whole tourism industry of Israel. About 45 hotels are
located within the city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa itself and the
