The Maccabi Tel Aviv football club is pleased and proud to host you at match-
day 4 of the group stage of the 2004/05 UEFA Champions League.
For the first time in the history of Israeli sports clubs, Maccabi Tel Aviv FC
is tonight hosting the prestigious club, AFC Ajax, as part of a formal competition.
The warm welcoming that our team received and the thousands of fans that
accompanied it in Flolland prove once again that sportsmanship has the power
to bring nations together and to spread optimism in our world- even though
for our team the result on the field was disappointing.
I am certain that the connection between the Dutch club and the Jewish people, in Israel and throughout
the world, will continue to exist and will even grow due to these gatherings.
Dear guests, we wish you a pleasant stay in the Promised Land, and believe and hope that we shall be
able to host you in Israel again in the near future.
