Andy Reid became the latest of our rising young stars to pledge his long-
term future to The City Ground.
Reid, who enjoyed a hugely successful second half of last season, signed
a new three-year contract, following the example set by Michael Dawson,
John Thompson, Eugen Bopp and Chris Doig, who are all on long-term deals.
Hart said: From Christmas onwards, Andy produced some very good
performances and for the first time, I feel he has earned himself a contract.
"He has been with us for six years now and I really feel he has earned this
deal. If he continues to keep his feet on the ground, I think he's going to
go on to even greater things."
Michael Dawson was included in the England Under 21
squad for a friendly with Serbia and Montenegro and a
Euro Qualifier against Slovakia.
Reid had a goal disallowed as the Republic of Ireland's 2-2
draw with Germany in the Under 21 international. The Eire
line-up also included John Thompson.
Reid and Thompson helped Eire's Under 21 side record their
first Euro 2004 qualifying victory - a 2-1 success over Albania.
And Academy star Tom Groves captained England's Under 18
side to victory in the Lisbon Tournament in Portugal. England

interested in recruiting the services of David Johnson.
