THE THREE FOREST LEGENDS RETURN TO ENTERTAIN THE NOTTINGHAM PUBLIC ONCE AGAIN NIGEL CLOUGH, NEIL WEBB AND STÜART PEARCE WITH JOHN BAIRD OF DCM APEX. WHO SPONSORED THE EVENING City Ground old boys Stuart Pearce, Nigel Clough and Neil Webb joined forces again recently-to perform in front of hundreds of their biggest fans. The fab three took centre stage in a Q A night, which was staged at the East Midlands Conference Centre in May and was organised by our Corporate Department. Pearce, Clough and Webb, who between them clocked up more than 1,100 appearances in our colours, delighted the audience with tales from their playing days. Not surprisingly, Brian Clough was the subject of many of the stories with Pearce recounting how the master manager often welcomed opposition captains to The City Ground. "Brian and myself would have to go and see the referee before games with the opposition manager and captain," said Pearce, who is now a member of Kevin Keegan's backroom staff at Manchester City. "If the opposition skipper came into the referee's room wearing flip flops, Brian would go over to shake his hand and make sure he stood on his toes. "I remember him doing it to Middlesbrough's Nigel Pearson, who just didn't know what to make of it at all. Brian wasn'ttrying to hurt anyone - it was just his way of unsettling players." Pearce, Clough and Webb spent more than an hour fielding questions from the 200-strong audience. And our Corporate Sales Manager Les Braddsaid: "Stuart, Nigel and Neil were fantastic. They were quite happy to try and answer all of the questions that came their way as honestly as they could. For the audience it was a rare opportunity to hear the views of three true Forest legends. "It was a great night and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who supported the event."
