JAN WOUTERS: Wouters has gone from controlling midfields for some
of the best teams in Europe to controlling one of Europe's absolute best teams - Ajax
Amsterdam. Wouters, who was known as one of the toughest players of his time, won a
European Championship with Holland in 1988. He is currently molding together talent from
all over the world along with a healthy dose of homegrown ability in order to create a team
that will contend for the UEEA Cup Winner's Trophy and the Dutch National Championship.
Player Profiles: BRIAN LAUDRUP: The Danish International superstar who recently
has struggled finding the form he showcased in France '98 was transferred from his contract
at Chelsea to Ajax this Summer, and he is excited about showing his ability to the fans at
Giants Stadium. If he can find his old form there is no doubt that entertainment is guaran
teed when Ajax clashes with Aston Villa on July 23rd 1999 at Giants Stadium.
NIKOS MACHLAS: The 26-year-old forward is one of Europe's up-and-
coming strikers, having scored 60 goals in the past three seasons with Vitesse Arnhem. He is
coming to Ajax on a record transfer sum of 19 million guilders ($8.8million) to boost the
already potent attack of the strong Dutch side.

FERNADO EDGAR GALETTO: Along with Phlipsen, Galleto adds

"EL CONDE (the count) because of his regal playing style. He is elegant, thoughtful,
