Rosenborg Boomklub!
The presence of Rosenborg Ballklubb
in the UEFA Champions League quar
ter-finals has sent Norwegian fans
stampeding towards the Lerkendal sta
dium in search of a precious ticket for
the home match against the defending
European champions, Juventus FC. It
will be the first European quarter-final to
be played on Norwegian soil.
The Trondheim club can only put some
20,000 tickets on sale, and there has
been such an avalanche of ticket
requests that Rosenberg reckon they
could have sold 60,000. Not bad in a
city with a population Of 145,000!
One direct result is that sales of season
tickets have rocketed. The club put its
tickets for the campaign on sale in
January, as usual, with prices ranging
from 500 kroner for a standing place to
1,700 kroner for a seat in the upper tier
of the new main stand. Apart from
watching Rosenborg's 13 home games
