25 Danish winners
In 1995, the Danish Football Association, in conjunction with the national Sport-
Toto company, launched a Fair Play campaign which included all football players
of every age and every level.
More than 1,500 clubs were called upon to nominate or propose a player who had
produced a particular performance for their club. Out of all of the names received
by the association, 25 were drawn and were rewarded with a trip to the EURO 96
match between Denmark and Turkey.
Peter Lux of Trelde GIF, one of the 25 winners, said aboud Fair Play: "There is no
reason to be violent on the field of play. Football should be fun. When I go onto
the field, I want to play football. I am not one of those who wants to hit or injure
an opponent, or even attack the referee."
