The club colours were originally pink and black, and the team donned its famous black-and-white stripe only in 1903. The club won its first league championship in 1905 and its second in 1926. The first great Juventus team won five Italian league championships in a row between 1931 and 1935, and its first Italian Cup in 1938. Twenty years later, Juventus won its tenth league championship and the right to wear a gold star on its famous stripes. The 1970s were the golden years in the club's history: the team won five league titles and also a UEFA Cup in 1977. Under the management of Trapattoni, the team boasted such great players as Zoff, Cabrini, Gentile, Scirea, Tardelli and then Platini and Boniek. In 1982 Juventus won its twentieth league title and the right to sew a second star on its black-and-white stripes. The club won its first Cup Winners' Cup in 1984, followed by the European Cup in 1985on that tragic night at the Heysel Stadiumand the World Club Championship, and its twenty-second league championship in 1986. The club, owned by the Agnelli family, then entered a period of transition and had to wait until 1995 before winning the twenty-third championship, which makes Juventus the most successful team in Italian football. THE GROUND A new ground was built for the 1990 World Cup and now hosts Juventus' home games. Having left the old ground, the scene of so many great victories and still used for training purposes, in the 1990-91 season the black-and-whites moved to the Delle Alpi Stadium in the suburbs of Turin. The new all-seater stadium has a capacity of 64,041 and is equipped with excellent parking facilities.
