THE COACH
Dino ZOFF.
Age 51 (born February 28, 1942). In his
day one of the great goalkeepers and
Italy's World Cup-winning captain in
1982. Born near Venice the teenage

Juventus whom he later coached to
victory in the UEFA Cup and Italian

THE PLAYERS
Luca MARCHEGIANI. (Goalkeeper)
Aged 27 (born February 22, 1966)
with three caps. One of Lazio's big
summer signings, from Torino.
Marchegiani could well be Italy's
goalkeeper at the World Cup finals
next year. Torino originally signed
him from Brescia in 1988 to be mere
standby reserve. Instead, thanks to
the coaching of former international
Lido Vieri, Marchegiani took over as
No. 1 and was a key figure in Torino's
run to last year's UEFA Cup Final. Has
recovered well from a nightmare
debut in Italy's World Cup qualifying
opener, a 2-2 draw against
Switzerland, a year ago.
Paolo Dl SARNO. (Goalkeeper)
Age 25 (born June 11968).
Summer signing from Third Division
Ternana. Began with Monopoli, also in
Division Three.

of their captain infuriated Torino fans.
Giuseppe FAVALLI. (Left-back)
Age 21 (born January 8, 1972).
Signed from Cremonese along with
Bonomi in the summer of 1991
Another member of the Italian team
