Rob ALFLEN. (Midfield) Age 25 (born May 7, 1968). Former Under-21 international. Signed two years ago from FC Utrecht and now has more than 160 first division appearances to his credit. Underwent surgery to repair a hernia in the close season. Michael KREEK Em pics Michael KREEK. (Midfield) Age 23 (born January 16, 1970). Olympic and Under-21 international. Ajax Youth product. Jari LITMANEN. (Midfield/Forward) Aged 22 (born February 20, 1971) with eight caps for Finland. Signed last September from Finnish club MyPa (who may be playing Arsenal in the first round of the Cup-winners' Cup this coming season). Litmanen's best position is considered to be playing 'in the hole' just behind the central strikers. Martijn REUSER. (Midfield) Aged 18 (born February 1, 1975). Youth international. Clarence SEEDORF. (Forward) Aged 17 (born April 1, 1976). Youth international and considered the most exciting young talent in Dutch football. Seedorf made his Ajax first team debut at 16, young than previous superstars such as Cruyff and Van Basten. Before his I 7th birthday he had played in four UEFA Cup-ties and was the inspiration of Ajax's remarkable 5-0 victory away to Feyenoord in last season's Dutch cup semi-final. Ronald DE BOER. (Striker) Age 23 (born May 15, 1970). Twin brother of international defender Frank De Boer. Ronald began like Frank, with the Ajax youth section. Two years ago he was sold to Twente for £400,000 but then made such impressive progress in Dutch League that Ajax paid nearly 1.8 million to buy him back at the start of this year. Part of his responsibility will be to help fill the gap left by the £8 million sale of Dennis Bergkamp to Internazionale of Italy. Stefan PETTERSSON. (Striker) Age 30 (born March 22, 1963) with 28 caps for Sweden. One of Swedish football's most highly-rated exports, having begun his career with Norrkoping and then transferring to IFK Gothenburg as replacement in 1986 for the retiring Torbjorn Nilsson. Moved to Ajax in 1988 for a Swedish record 1.3 million to fill the gap left by the departure of John Bosman to Mechelen. Unfortunately, during Ajax's UEFA Cup Final defeat of Torino in 1992, he broke an arm and thus lost the opportunity of playing for Sweden in the finals of the European Championships. Dan PETERSEN. (Forward) Age 21 (born May 6, 1972). Danish Under-21 international whom Ajax signed as a teenager. Edgar DAVIDS. (Forward). Age 20 (born March 13, 1973). Ajax Youth product. One of the goal-scoring heroes of the recent Cup Final victory over Second Division Heerenveen. Patrick KLUIVERT. (Striker) Aged 17 (born July 11976). Youth international. IgnatiusTUHUTERU. (Winger) Aged 19 (born August 23, 1973). Marc OVERMARS. (Winger) Age 20 (born March 29, 1973) with three caps. Began with Go-Ahead Eagles of Deventer, transferred with success last year to Twente Enschede and was sold to Ajax last summer as replacement for Genoa- bound John Van't Schip. Quick and clever, he can play on right wing or left and made an outstanding goal- scoring debut for Holland in the 3-1 home win over Turkey in Utrecht this past season.
