A nomadic figure he's been with Go Ahead Deventer, Volendam, the Dutch National Side, then Spanish sides Real Zaragosa, and Real Madrid (where he won the title) before returning. STANLEY MENZO (Goalkeeper) Born 15/10/63 From Surinam, Stanley joined Ajax in 1983 from Haarlem. Almost a "goalsweeper" because of the way he defends outside his penalty box. First choice keeper for four years - Sort of a Dutch Bruce Grobelaar. DANNY BLIND (Defender). Born 1 /5/61 Joined Ajax as a teenager after being released by Sparta Rotterdam without playing a game. Career has been dogged by injuries. Made Holland debut in May 1987. SONNY SILOOY (Defender). Born 31/8/63 Joined Ajax in 1980. Moved to Matra Racing de Paris in September 1987 for £750,000 but this did not work out and he returned to Ajax in the close season for £600,000. Capped over 20 times. MARCIO VINK (Defender). Born 17/10/70 One of the youngsters who came through the ranks and claimed a regular first team place this season. PETER LARSSON (Defender). Born 8/3/61 Rated one of the best central defenders in the world. Originally signed from Halmstad by IFK Gothemburg for a then domestic record of 700,000. Was voted Player of the Year in 1987 before moving to Ajax. Has over 30 caps for Sweden. JAN WOUTERS (Midfielder). Born 17/7/60 Called a surprise signing from FC Utrecht in 1986 where he made nearly 200 appearances.
