No stranger to European competition having played for both Shamrock Rovers and U.C.D. in the Cup Winners Cup while playing for U.C.D. against Everton in the 1984 Cup Winners Cup he only conceded 1 goal over the two legs. Number one keeper for the Irish Olympic squad but its a mystery to most observers why is he not a regular in the full international squad. GINO LAWLESS Defender/Midfield. Age 27. Shop Owner. Previous Clubs: Bohemians. Spent 8 years with Bohemians before joining Dundalk last season. Comfortable in the back four or midfield. Honoured at Inter League and is a regular in the Olympic squad. Has played many times in Europe for Bohemians. DAVE CONNELL Defender. Age 26. Previous Club Bohemians. Missed nearly all of last season through injury. One of the best right-backs in the country. Dave is back to full fitness. Has also been a regular in Europe for Bohemians. JOEY MALONE Defender. Age 28. Caretaker. Previous Clubs: St. Patrick's Athletic, Athlone Town. Has followed his manager Turlough O'Connor, first to Athlone Town with whom he won a league medal and Dundalk in 1985. Capped 4 times for the Irish under 21 team. Has managed magnificently to overcome the handicap of playing with one kidney. HARRY McCUE -- Defender. Age 28. P. T. Worker. Previous Clubs: Shamrock Rovers, Athlone Town, Glentoran, Washington, Diplomats, Drogheda United. Another who has played under Thrlough O'Connor at Athlone where he won two league medals. Also a regular in European football and he captained Athlone against KB Copenhagen in the European Cup. MARTIN MURRAY Midfield. Age 28. Lorry Driver. Previous Clubs: Home Farm, Everton, Drogheda United. Won a Cup winners medal with Home Farm when only 16 years old. Joined Everton a year later but bad luck and injury prevented his progress. Returned to play for Drogheda United in 1982 and earned the League of Ireland player of the year. Joined Dundalk in 1985. One of the most skilful players in the League of Ireland. BARRY KEHOE Midfield. Age 25. Insurance Agent. Barry Burst on to the scene when only 18 years old gaining international caps at youth level. It wasn't long before he attracted the attention of clubs across the water and he scored for Manchester United ina trial game. With the world at his feet Barry was struck down by serious illness but he has recovered and has fought his way back to the top and he is now a regular in the Olympic squad. LARRY WYSE Midfield. Age 29. Stores Supervisor. Previous Clubs: Athlone Town, Bohemians. Another player who played under Thrlough O'Connor at Athlone. Joined Dundalk last summer from Bohemians. Renown for scoring spectacular goals from outside the penalty box. DESSIE GORMAN Forward. Age 22. Dundalk top scorer last season has attracted attention from England. A product of Dundalk's Youth Policy and he has been a member of the Olympic Squad. TERRY EVISTON Forward. Age 28. Teacher. Previous Clubs: Bohemians, Shamrock Rovers, Athlone Town. Has plenty of European experience. Had a bad run of injuries last season but eventually won his place with some vital goals. Has been a regular scorer this season. JOHN CLEARY Forward. Age 26. Previous Club: St. Patrick's Athletic. Joined Dundalk for his second spell this summer. Equally at home in defence, midfield and attack. DAVE NEWE Forward. Age 23. Previous Clubs: Drogheda, Shelbourne. Signed from Drogheda this summer where he was top scorer. A very skilful winger who hopes to gain his first domestic honours with Dundalk this year. STEPHEN HENDERSON Goalkeeper. Age 22. Made his debut last season and he is a very promising understudy to Alan O'Neill. His brother Dave is goalkeeper for St. Patrick s Athletic.
