Welcome to
AFC AJAX
On behalf of the board of the AFC Ajax I like to say a word of
welcome to our tonight guests from Scotland. We are pleased
to receive the members of the board, the players, the trainers,
coach and supporters of Celtic Glasgow in this famous
Olympic Stadium.
After the draw in July joy and fear went through the hearts of
all the Ajax-fans. Of course we are happy to have drawn such
a famous club as Celtic, but also we fear that these two
European Cup-ties will be very difficult for us. We know from
the past that matches between our teams appealled very
much to the crowds. We both play offensive football and the
first match in Glasgow showed that this kind of football gives
the public nearly the ultimate satisfaction.
It's a pity that one of our names will disappear already after
the first round.
But before the result is known, we hope and trust that we all
will enjoy an attractive football-evening in Amsterdam.
