It gives me great pleasure to present this tournament in Bergen at
the Brann Stadium. In Ajax of Holland and Manchester United of
England you have two of the finest club teams in the world, both
with a tremendous history of ahievements not least of which are
their respective honours in the European Cup. Together with your
own enthusiastic team Brann S.K. it should make for a truly
entertaining and great competition.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the Chairman
of Brann S.K., Mr. Walter Solberg and all the officials of Brann who
have been so helpful in organising this tournament.
I sincerely hope that the football fans of Bergen and Norway
enjoy this international tournament.
Det er en stor glede a presentere denne turneringen i Bergen pa
Brann Stadion. To av de fineste klobb-lag i verden, Ajax, fra Holland
og Manchester United, fra England, begge med en fantastisk historie,
spesielt deres meritter fra Europa cuppen. Sammen med deres eget
entusiastiske lag Brann S.K., skulle det ligge an til en underholdende
og storslagen foresti 11 i ng
Jeg vil gjerne benytte denne anledningen til a takke Brann's

Dear football friends,
Sportsklubben Brann was founded 70 years ago.
We claim that in the course of these years Brann has become the
property of everybody in Bergen. The football is the centre and the
fortunes of the Club in success and in adversity—followed
intensely.
Brann has often expressed its gratitude to its audience and the
side has—with variable success unfortunately—always aimed to give
its many and faithful fans top performances and top results.
Sportsklubben Brann wish to thank Ajax and Manchester United
for visiting Bergen and hopes their stay will be a pleasant one.
Let us conclude by thanking everybody who has assisted in
making this tournament possible.

Det er i êr 70 êr siden Sportsklubben Brann bie stiftet.
Vi er ubeskjedne nok til a pasta at i loepet av disse arene har
Brann rukket a bli hele byens eiendom. Fotballen er blitt det
sentrale og klubbens ferd i medgang og motgang— foelges med
levende interesse.
Brann har ofte gitt uttrykk for takknemlighet overfor sitt
publikum og klubben har—dessverre med vekslende hell al It id
villet gi sine mange og trofaste tilhengere topp pée prestasjoner og
topp resultater.

What a thrill and experience it will be for the
players of Brann to play against two world
class teams Ajax and Manchester United.
Known throughout the world for their fine
play and entertainment this being a
competitive competition with a prize going to
the winners I am sure you supporters are in
for full value for the money you pay to see.
This being the 70th Anniversary of Brann
S.K. I would like to thank the Committee of
Brann for agreeing to play and to stage this
Tournament the first of its kind in Bergen and
I also believe, in Norway. With this kind of
thinking it tells me that Brann S.K. is being
run on the right lines and nothing but good
can come from this fine venture.
You supporters can also play your part in
making it a success by coming along and
giving your support and vocal encouragement
to these fine teams. Without your support the
tournament is killed. I know over these past
4 years when I have asked for your support
you have given me it and I hope you will do
the same this time.

S.K., vil jeg gjerne fa rette en takk til
kommiteen i Brann for a ya godkjent forslaget
om a spille denne turneringen som er den
fprste av sitt slag i Bergen, og sa vidt jeg vet,
ogsa i Norge. Med dette arrangementet,
forteller det meg at Brann S.K. er drevet pa en
riktig mate og bare gode erfaringer kan bli
resultatet av denne begivenheten.
Dere supportere kan ogsa gjpre deres del
for at dette arrangementet skal bli en suksses,
ved a mpte opp og gi deres lydhprte st0tte til
disse fine lag. Uten deres stptte vil turneringen
vaere dpdsdpmt. Nar jeg har bedt om deres
stptte over de siste 4 ar, har jeg al It id fatt det
og det haper jeg dere vil gi med denne gangen

We are very pleased to be invited to participate
in this tournament in Bergen and I especially
am looking forward to it as this is my first
visit to Bergen.
Tournaments of this kind, where there is a
competitive nature and a trophy to play for,
can only help football here and make it more
entertaining for you as supporters.
We are looking forward to playing against
Brann and I have admired Manchester United
ever since I was a player in Yugoslavia. I am
sure that the Brann S.K. fans will enjoy this
tournament and we at Ajax will do our best
to entertain and hopefully win the trophy.
Vi er veldig glad for a ha blitt invitert tit a
delta i denne turneringen i Bergen og jeg
spesielt, ser frem til dette, siden det er min
fprste visitt til Bergen.
Turneringer av denne type, hvor der er
konkuranse og et trofé a spille for, kan bare
heve fotballnivaet og gj0re det bedre
underholdningsmessig for dere supportere.
Vi ser frem til a spille mot Brann, og
Manchester United har jeg beundret siden
jeg selv var spiller i Jugoslavia. Jeg er sikker
pa at Brann S.K.'s tilhengere vil glede seg over
denne turneringen og vi i Ajax vil gjöre vart
beste for a underholde og haper ogsa vi skal
vinne troféet.

When I was asked if Manchester United would
participate in a tournament in Bergen my
immediate reaction was one of great
enthusiasm. I have personally been here on
a number of occasions and of course was
pleased to be involved again with my old
friend Billy Elliott.
I think this particular tournament is a
wonderful idea and we are honoured to be
playing with Brann and of course Ajax who
have a wonderful record in European football
and I have always admired their entertaining
style.
I think it is a great opportunity for the
fans of Brann S.K. and I wish all the teams
involved good luck in the competition, with
the reservation that I hope we can lift the
trophy
De jeg ble spurt om Manchester United viile
delta i en turnering Bergen, var min reaksjon
meget positiv. Jeg har selv vaert her mange
ganger og var selvfplgelig svaert glad for a delta
sammen med min gamle venn Billy Elliott.
Jeg tror at denne spesielle turneringen er
en veldig god ide og vi har satt umatlig stor
pris pa a fa spille mot Brann, og selvakt Ajax
som har slikt enormt renomé i Europa. Jeg
har alltid beundret deres underholdende
spillestil.
Jeg tror dette er en virkeiig godbit for
tilhengere av BrannS.K. og jeg 0nsker alle
lagene lykke til i turneringen, med en
reservasjon, at jeg haper vi vil ga av med
troféet.
