FUTURE
Len Browning (centre-forward) Free-scoring striker who is an
ever-present with the Ex-United players' team which has raised
nearly £4,000 for a portable kidney unit, later to be presented to
Leeds General Infirmary. Illness brought about his premature exit
from the professional ranks. Present occupation: Sports centre
instructor.
Walter Sweeney (defender) Born in Glasgow, he joined Leeds
United straight from school and after several years at Eiland Road
returned home and had spells with Morton and Cork Hibernians,
with whom he played in European cup football.

FUTURE
John Lukic—Chesterfield and Derbyshire County schoolboy
goalkeeper who played with Ui.ited's junior side as an amateur
last season and made several appearances in the Central League
side, 'keeper of immense promise. Stands 6 ft. 2 in.
Duncan Reynard A Yorkshireman from Pateley Bridge area.
Duncan signed apprentice forms just over 12 months ago after
completing successful tours to France and Yugoslavia with
United's youth side. A right-back or midfield player.
Philip Porthouse— A strong powerfully built youngster from
Jarrow. Plays at full back or in the centre of the defence. Gained
county schoolboy honours.
David Bennett—A midfield player of slim build with good skills
and ability. Can use both feet effectively. Played for Rotherham
Schoolboys.
Nicholas Macnay—One of the few Leeds players on the Club's
books, Nick is a defender who in the junior side has been playing
a central defensive role. May eventually develop into a full-back.
Tony Rowe—Came to the notice of United while playing in the
Leeds City Schoolboys side. Now in his second year as an
apprentice professional. A forward of promise.
Tony Barrowcliffe—Nottingham County Schoolboy midfield
player with good skills and vision. Thought of as good captain
material. Was sought by a lot of other clubs including Nottingham
Forest. His father is an ex-Derby County full-back.
Sean Sturman—Born in Port Talbot, Sean was an all round
sportsman at school playing cricket and rugby union as well as
soccer. Decided on soccer as his career. Plays midfield or in
defence.
Peter Daly—Joined United from school in Hamilton just over 12
months ago following an impressive display on a summer tour
with United. A midfield player or defender.
John McPhee—Another of the Club's young Scottish players.
John comes from Glasgow. He played for Glasgow Schoolboys
and was a Scottish schoolboy trialist midfield player. Now plays
either midfield or as a winger.
