No. 8
DONDERDAG 15 MEI 1924
7de JAARGANG.
TO OUR FRIENDS THE BOLTON
WANDERERS LEEDS UNITED.
Gentlemen!
The managing committee of Ajax, call to
you, Bolton Wanderers Leeds United, a
most hearty welcome at your arrival on
our grounds.
Already before about ten years we had
the pleasure to meet a professional team
in Amsterdam, namely the Preston North
End and since the cordial, friendly relations
between both our clubs have been entered.
We further can tell you that Ajax kept
most friendly relations with a number of
British amateur clubs, which relations have
been intensified during our trip to London,
which took place in March 1923. In London
Ajax assisted, besides to to the half Cup
final, to the famous Boatrace Oxford
Cambridge.
We got acquainted with your country as
the one where the best sport is to be seen.
The fame that we know of you is that
your teams belong to the best of the world
and this will, no doubt be confirmed one
of these days.
We know that we will learn very much
from the matches that will be played here
and of course every-one is looking forward
with much anxiety to the match Bolton
Leeds.
We very much appreciate that you will
be our guests for some days and hope
you will have much joy during these holidays.
To Leeds and Bolton Wanderers „three
cheers".
J. J. GROOTMEIJER,
Secretary A.F.C. „Ajax".
